Both of my kids took classes there. Between AP credit and college classes, entered UCLA 2 units short of being a sophomore! What does Ian want to study at RIT? I've spent a bit of time in Rochester over the past 4 years while Carly was a student at University of Rochester. applied to U of R and RIT-and was accepted at both. RIT offered him a great scholarship package, which would have made it about 1/2 the price of UCLA--but we consider UCLA a bargain after paying 4 years of U of R tuition! You probably know that deaf students get a tuition break at RIT, but I believe you have to apply thru NTID, even if you go to a different college there-that was what did. Keep us posted. Guest guest
, Thanks, I'm really hoping I made the right choice, so far I think I did. Last week the school sent a guidance counselor and teacher for an all day inservice at e and today they sent two eighth graders to spend the day with Darby at school. (It's an hour drive each way.) The thought of her leaving e has had me panicked but I'm beginning to think that this is going to work. Sharon
Guest guest
I felt almost the same way when our AVT said Maggie was ready to graduate! But like our AVT, e will be there for you if you need help in the mainstream. And it sounds like the new school is doing some terrific things to get ready for Darby. I wish we were closer, Maggie is finishing 8th grade too and has no deaf/HOH friends her own age.
