AWARDS ADULTS WITH DYSLEXIA AND ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER & to host LD Resources Foundation Inc. fundraiser and award ceremony New York, NY - What do Branson founder of Virgin Airlines, business leader Schwab, Actress Whoopi Goldberg, Actor Henry Winkler, MicroSoft Attorney Boies, Olympic diver Greg Louganis, and New York City's largest residential real estate agency founder, Barbara Corcoran all have in common? They are all successful adults with LD. In honor of adults with LD, the LD Resources Foundation will host an award ceremony on Wednesday, June 7th to raise funds and awareness of the struggles faced by adults with LD. The mission of the LD Resources Foundation is to guide adults suffering from learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, and Attention Deficit Disorder by providing grants, information and direction, giving them the assistance they need to enter higher education and maximize their true potential. In honor of their struggles and dedication to achievement, Ms. Zahavit Paz, founder and director of LD Resources Foundation will be presenting LD adults with awards to help fund LD assessments, adaptive technology and equipment. Most people don't know that many successful people like Rosie O'Donnell, Branson, Schwab, and Barbara Corcoran have LD. Each one of them demonstrate the level of success an adult with LD can achieve when provided with proper accommodations, testing and guidance. With today's focus on standardized testing, people with learning disorders and other disabilities are at a disadvantage. Hidden disabilities like dyslexia are too often dismissed as not being " real. " Accommodations are suspected of providing an " advantage. " The law's protections are often not realized by the people who need it most. LD Resources Foundation through the generosity of its donors seeks to provide funding to adults suffering from learning disabilities, dyslexia, and attention deficit disorder by providing grants, information and direction to help them enter higher education and maximize their true potential. LD Resources Foundation Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501©3 corporation and receives no income or sponsorship from government or advertisement. Its funding depends on the generosity of private individuals. To make a tax deductible donation, visit www.ldrfa.org.
