Guest guest
Dr Rutledge is the only surgeon that does the surgery exactly like he does it!! He is a specialist in this field, or I should say an expert. After researching it for many weeks and months I knew that I wanted him to do the surgery and no one else. I don't know what you mean by " approved " ? The surgery is approved, otherwise he wouldn't be able to do it?? !!! Does that make sense? I am not a nurse. But I had the surgery on Jan 10, 2000 and have lost 58 lbs and feel wonderful. It is the smartest thing I have ever done for myself. My son in law is a physician and is so impressed with my progress that he is referring his patients to Dr Rutledge too. Bye now. in Missouri
Guest guest
Thanks, . I'm just wondering why nobody else is doing it the way Dr. Rutledge does. It seems like a better way and you'd think other doctors would want to do it, too. Anne Deckbound@... wrote: > Dr Rutledge is the only surgeon that does the surgery exactly like he does > it!! Guest guest
Dr. R. is the only one doing it because he invented it, and he hasn't gotten around to training a partner in it yet. Also, the last time I heard, he was getting ready to present a couple of papers about the MGB before the Society of Bariatris Surgeons in a few months, so what you're hearing offsite may change cery rapidly. Guest guest
Karrie, My oldest daughter was diagnosed when she was 6 years old and she is 9 now and her lungs are very good. They said she has some damage about the size of the end of an eraser on a pencil so she was diagnosed late and her lungs are just fine. Her PFT are 98. I hope this helps Deb A

Guest guest
-----Hello Rosemary! My daughter was only diagnosed at 5 years old. She had been coughing a lot and that was treated sometimes with antibiotics (hat was very good afterwards). Gwendolynn has a very good health (CF wise) now and I do not think that it would be very much better if she had her medicines earlier. She uses only a few Creon a day and has never been in hospital. She is on antibiotics as a profylaxw and has not had IV's yet. The fact that she was diagnosed so late was due to her good health (CF wise).> Best regards, Tine Zwaan, mother of Gwendolynn 8yowcf
Guest guest
If your child hasn't been diagnosed until 4-5 it might not be as severe. The median age for CF has now risen to 36. Keeps your hopes positive. Mom to 6 y/o.
