I am not kidding here.>>>> ALL HAIL THE BOOK QUEEN.... Geez I thought I was bad. I love books and have two huge shelves of books for the boys and a smaller one of mostly homeschooling stuff next to the computer and that doesn't account for the history and geography books in the dining room cabinet. Never mind the other thing on wheels I have full of homeschooling stuff. Then I find you an Usborn rep I would like to support. UGHHH and dh wonders where that refund check will be going. Guest guest
This is SO cool!! About time. debbi --- Enter to win 6 free Disney DVD's http://tinyurl.com/3ztv Re: I swear, I am going to kill someone This article was sent to another list that I am on. Homeschoolers win against abusive Social Workers....... http://www.visionforumministries.org/sections/hotcon/news/014_antisocial_workers ..asp An article which actually has very little to do with homeschooling, but everything to do with abusive social workers. It gets REALLY good in the middle!! The judge in this case ruled that the 4th admendment does apply to social workers (which they tried to claim that it did not apply to them) and some other stuff. Georga Hackworth Enter to win $50 worth of free books www.ubah.com/F1549 Re: I swear, I am going to kill someone -<< They can insist all they want, I can deny it.>> Sure you can deny it and it's the very first thing you should do. Deny him access to your children and right away call a lawyer. <<He can get a cop to do it for him but that doesn't mean he comes in>> I'm not sure what state you are in but in this state the police officer can enter your house with that social worker without your consent. If that child is in imediate danger. " Everyone and every Judges belief of Imediate is diffrent " <<< And yes, the judge will give him a court order to see them but he has to have some reason, of course he can lie, it happens.>>> That's just not the case in some places. He doesn't have to lie. There are many cases were extended breastfeeding, special diets, refusal of vax's and homeschooling, have all been called immediate danger to a child. Some of what we do to protect our children, like special locks on doors and windows can very well be considered a danger due to fire hazards (child not being able to get out of fireman getting in) . It's all in the eyes of be beholder, there really doesn't have to be a reason to lie. There is way too much room in the system for interpolations. Each Social worker is suppose to be without judgment but how is that possible without set rules . (there just aren't enough rules to the cps system) Even things that are considered legal are looked up with downcast eyes like homeschooling --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
What is this about a library card costing $150??? That isn't right! Our school district didn't meet the agreement that the library board. It all came down to money. Mount Hope where I lived refused to pay the fee's that library wanted for it's school districts to use the library. (run on sentence if I ever heard one) So if a family want's those privileges it's $150, to renew your card. We are allowed access to the books just not allowed to take them out. I don't get to the library often, since I have to go when I don't have . Libraries here have some strict rules including not allowing the parents in the room while storytime is taking place. Of course this means we can't go. I can't leave in that room alone. They told me that if they bend the rules for me they have to bend them for everyone. I was so mad. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
my two cents: people who go into the cleaning business do so because they are clean freaks. They want to work for people like my parents: a quiet elderly couple who don't make much mess to begin with. My mom's cleaning lady goes on and on and on about other houses in the neighborhood with kids (people who need her services the most) and how much she hates cleaning them. She eventually dropped half of her clients as a result. Re: I swear, I am going to kill someone > My house was too much work. Her business primarily consisted of cleaning > the already clean houses of working couples. When I argued with her about > her dropping cleaning my house, she just got mad and wanted to punish me. > Shouldn't have argued of course because why would I want to hire someone > like that anyway, but all I could think was that the house was already to > clean. Can you say discrimination??? Oh Yeah. ADA laws. A lawyer could have fun with this one. Georga, no offense, but I don't think I want to live where you live. Seriously, what about moving to a friendlier state? I can help edit if you like. If you have alot of information I've been told that you should have a one page letter that gives an overview, states the problem, and requests their intervention with suggested resolution. Then if more information is needed that can be as an attachment.

Guest guest
Ummmmm, I do it because I get paid good and can work around having 2 autistic kids. :-) I'm also a lot more meticulous at others homes than I am at my own. Mine will almost always 'look' well kept, just don't do the white glove test on me and since my dog is shedding horribly right now, you'll also have to ignore the dog hair! Sue, who really isn't a clean freak (but my dh is ;-p) ----- Original Message ----- > > my two cents: people who go into the cleaning business do so because they > are clean freaks. Guest guest
See now, I knew I was gonna put my foot in my mouth : ) Sorry .... I'm sure there are lots of lovely people in the cleaning business. I just happen to know some that are not. I never really intended to make such a sweeping statement. Thanks for not coming down on me too hard! ----- Original Message ----- > Ummmmm, I do it because I get paid good and can work around having 2 > autistic kids. :-) I'm also a lot more meticulous at others homes than I am > at my own. I just couldn't resist commenting on it! No apologies needed. Just remember, it's great being self employed with kids like ours! Sue
Guest guest
My grandmother was the youngest of 16 children. She was always disappointed that my dad only had three. My uncle has 6. I grew up in a very catholic town where families of 6 or 7 were very common. My best friend came from a family of 12. I think large families are wonderful. I think your lawyer should write a letter to the social worker's boss. And after you've written letters to your congressman, maybe you should think about writing to your local TV station or paper. Maybe even write a letter to Oprah or Maury. Sorry all this is happening to you. Tuna ===== You can learn many things from children.
