and I hope it goes as smooth as the RAI. I actually feel kinda silly

getting so anxious about the RAI, but then again, you all are so

right about being positive, and this is not something nature intended

us to endure.

My TSH had jumped to 291 (up from 93.2 just 2 weeks prior) and of

course the Nuclear tech and my Doctor were both real excited and said

I should have " fabulous " uptake where it needs to be. Well, not

being in the best of moods, I just wanted it over with. I received 2

pills of 153.6 mCi and had no trouble at all for the first day. Took

the groups advice and brought along some lemon heads and ate probably

half the bag by 10 p.m. Somewhere around 2 a.m. I awoke in pain

because my neck was swollen (damn! shud have sucked on lemon heads

all night long!) The nurses discovered tylenol-3 doesn't do anything

for me but make me nauseous and groggy. My Doctor finally visited,

chewed out the midshift nurse and prescribed me good ole Bayer

aspirin every 6 hours, which worked great! I was able to leave the

hospital 48 hours after entering and will start synthroid (.125) on

Saturday.

I am scheduled for WBS on Aug 19th and hope that goes well. Although

the RAI wasn't as traumatic as I made it out to be in my head, I

think I don't want to do another one of those for at least another

year!

Thanks to all that offered advice and well wishes. And good luck to

those that have yet to accomplish this hurdle.
