I'm in Michigan.... I'll be watching to see if anyone here has any ideas. Guest guest Posted August 3, 2006 Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 I can't speak for Prompt, but they are going through a lot of changes right now. Since we go there for therapy I can tell you the office has been in a bit of disarray due to remodelling and expansion to accommodate two new therapists. The office manager was also on vacation for a little over two weeks so I'm sure that has put a kink in the regular operations. Some of the back office staff have also been taking summer vacations. I've always heard in the past that they are very quick to respond to requests for referrals so I imagine the remodelling and staffing chaos has impacted them. My son's therapist is actually changing as well. Well not completely, but he has seen one therapist 2x/wk for the last 11 months and she is going to part time at this clinic and spending the rest of the week at a newer satellite clinic so he will be seeing one of the new therapists once a week and his current therapist once a week. We're in the middle of two weeks of no therapy due to these vacations and staff issues. I'd suggest politely submitting your zip codes again, and I'll try to remember to ask the office manager if something is going on that is holding up referral responses the next time we're there. It might be a few weeks as he's not scheduled again until the 16th and I'll be having a baby sometime between now and then. Has anyone tried calling them? Darlene, the office manager is usually who answers the phone and she is very nice and helpful. Guest guest Posted August 3, 2006 Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 I emailed the PROMPT institute a list of zip codes and they could not locate any therapists, so I asked them if they could search by state and they were able to give me a list of PROMPT therapists in Masschusetts and New Hampshire. It did take a week or two but I was able to get the information. If anyone would like the list, let me know. Guest guest Posted August 4, 2006 Report Share Posted August 4, 2006 Thanks. The ASHA for the state of Florida brings up over 100 therapists and they don't have a categorization for PROMPT. If the PROMPT Institute don't respond I guess I'll just have to start emailing all these SLP's individually. I did email PROMPT and ask just for a list of therapist in my current state of Washington. I did get an immediate response stating that they would only do it five zip codes at a time. I did let them know that I have 2 zip code requests in (one of which has been sent 9 weeks ago) but I received no response. Thanks for your help.
