Introduction -- and new motivation

Hello!

I joined quite awhile ago, but haven't participated until now. I have

done Weight Watchers twice before, and I always do well... at first!

I lost 18 pounds one time, and 10 pounds another (this second time

was while I was trying to get pregnant and was already overweight,

and I thought I'd just work on losing a few so there'd be that many

fewer to lose afterward! LOL).

Anyway, my father died of heart disease nearly a year ago, and my

mother was diagnosed with diabetes 2 months ago, so I am MAJORLY

motivated now to lose some weight.

I've been " practising " -- in other words, cutting way back on sugar,

and going to the gym more, but not a clear plan. I was in a new job

and it was the holidays, so I didn't want to overstretch myself. I

haven't lost any weight (maybe I gained muscle?! LOL) but I know I've

been eating healthier, and getting used to going to the gym.

For Christmas, I got a pedometer, 2 Walking exercise DVDs, a jump

rope, a Weight Watchers cookbook (I LOVE all the ones I have, always

great recipes), a computer program that's a fancy-schmancy food diary

(tracks calories, fat grams, even minerals in what you eat!) ... and

next week, I'll join the crowds of January resolutionists -- and buy

6 months worth of Weight Watchers and hire a personal trainer at the

gym.

I am determined to lose 67 pounds in the next 2 years (I'll be 40 in

2 years and 3 months).

Anyway, that's a LOOOONG introduction. But I am super-excited to

finall be getting into the serious phase of my diet/exercise, and

stop " practising " !

Welcome Cindy :)!!!!!!!!

Good for you! My friend is a PT and so it's wonderful. She lays out

the rotations and everything, so that makes the workout part easier.

With my moving and not having access to my workouts for about 5

months, I undid a lot of what I accomplished the early part of this

year and end of last. But I'm back on the road to fix that.
