Hi. I haven't been reading or posting for a few days first because I

have been having nausea and am tired and second because I've been

having school problems with my 6 year old. It's been a bad few days

for me. The nausea worries me because I have the second round

scheduled for tomorrw and I just feel so sick. I don't want to

postpone it; each postponement only postpones the end of the ordeal.

The problems with my 6 YO are probably addressed somewhere in a Yahoo

groups parenting group but I just don't feel like finding it to see if

it's a good about that stuff as BC2 is about our stuff. Just have to

work that stuff out between the school and us but I think it's part of

what could be causing me to feel sick. All of the sudden he's having

coping and self esteem issues; can't take constructive criticism. We

put him in a college prep school at the age of 6, 12th overall in the

nation and I'm beginning to think it may have been the wrong place for

him. Only want him to have the best you know and it blows up in my

face. I got another wig today; I like it so much better. I am going

to take the first one back to the wig shop and have it thinned

out...it's just way too poufy:) Thinking good thoughts for us all

tonight and in my prayers for each of you; please think about me too.

I think a good cry is in order this evening. Thanks, Kim

Kim sorry you are feeling so sick. I would definitely tell the drs you want a

different anti nausea med and keep after them till they find something that

works. I am sure the problems with your 6 YO is adding to all of that. You are

in my prayers.

Hi Kim,

I feel for you honey, I don't have the right words to say other than I'm glad

you vented and know that I will keep you in my prayers. See if the drs. can

give you something else for the nausea.. also, keep in mind if you are stressed

over your 6 year old, the anxiety of it all is only going to add to the nausea.

A good cry isn't a bad thing, I think we all need one at at times. Get whatever

you need out of your system to take on tomorrow and get #2 behind you. Please

make sure you tell your nurses before they start the infusion that you already

feel sick, always make them aware of how you feel.. that can make a tremendous

different in your treatment because of what they can add to the infusion to

lessen the affects.

I'm glad you got yourself a new wig that you feel better in, thats a good

thing!!

Good Luck tomorrow and know that I will be thinking of you and sending you

positive energy!!

Love and Prayers,

Michele

Thanks a ton nne. The way I've been feeling it hasn't ever

crossed my mind that I COULD ask him for something else, so I really

appreciate your advice. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks between sessions

and it's only in the past 3 days that I starting feeling what I think

is " chemo bleccchk " . I'll talk with him about changing, I'm on

Ativan and phenergan. The Ativan helps some but both of them are

hard to take during the day without wanting to fall directly to

sleep. Can't work while sleeping:)

Hi Kim,

First of all I want to say that my prayers and thoughts go with you as you go in

for round 2

I'm really sorry to hear that you've got the added stress of your 6YO school

problems

going for you as well. I feel for you as I believe that 'when it rains it

pours'. I don't like it

one bit as I tend to get angry with my maker because doesn't He know that enough

is

enough already?

I don't always have great answers for myself, so I certainly don't trust that I

have any for

you, however, my heart goes out to you as you face today and I hope that this

round is

easier. I have heard that it is, but hey, you just never 'know'.

Good luck, my friend.

I had the same problem with phenergan...it acted like a sleeping pill.

My doctor also gave me Emend, which worked wonders...very little

nausea and it didn't also act as a sleeping pill..

Hi Kim,

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time now. I understand that you

don't want to put off chemo, because you want to get it over with and

be done...history. But maybe you're pushing yourself too hard in

an effort to be superwoman. This is a time to baby yourself, my dear.

Like you, I have a child who showed extremely bright qualities early

in life, but it's also important to let kids be kids, especially

boys. I was surprised to read that your 6 year-old was in a college

prep course....didn't even know this existed.

Maybe your " get it done " personality (like mine) has put too much

pressure on your son to overachieve. He now has the added pressure

of worrying about his mom's dealing with cancer, both on what he

sees in your physical and emotional side. I'm sure he's scared to

death of losing his mom.

Please take the time to nurture both you and your son, Kim. This is

a hard, but passing time, take it a day at a time, and enjoy each day

without adding more pressure. Love yourself and your son, maybe back

off on trying to overachieve. Better days are coming, my friend,

hope to hear from you again.
