Saw my surgeon for 1st time after mastectomy last week. The report

showed I had cancer in 10 out of 11 lymph nodes she removed & was

Stage 3. My estrogen & pergesterone receptors are positive.

Without knowing for sure, the surgeon told me I may have 5 to 7

years as it has spread. I went to a chat site with BC ladies and

told them my results. They had a fit that the surgeon told me that!

They said the cancer may not have gone any place else than the nodes

she removed. Next step is to see an oncologist. But...today, after

chatting with a lot of BC ladies I feel much better and feel I have

a good chance of surviving a long time!!! I think we all get scared

when we don't know what is ahead of us. I'm 66 yrs old so I can

understand you much younger women being very scared but don't give

up!!! There is hope!! Hugs to all of you!

Lynda,

Shame on your doctor! Outside of being in the nodes you would have to have other

tests to determine IF it has gone any farther. We have a sister group that is

mostly Stage IV ladies and some are past what was predicted for them. Some have

to be on chemo the rest of their lives but they manage and some even work. NOONE

knows how long we have. Only one person does and he's not talking! You are in my

prayers.

Hugs
