I, too, would like the cite for this, Lara. I have hereditarily high cholesterol and am under a cardiologist's care. Although being hypothyroid IS a risk factor for heart disease and high cholesterol, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who have high cholesterol and no thyroid disease. I can think of several folks offhand.
