Guest guest
When my son (now 9) was evaled privately yrs ago by a PT, she TRIED to make him dizzy...she tried spinning him and got nowhere...and then along with other tests said he definitely had sensory issues. The same story that Tricia just shared about her son---how she watched his eyes after she had tried to get him dizzy from spinning and she did not see what she was supposed to see.... He loves rides and now is just starting to get dizzy- alittle...ex: the teacups or that ride that spins you so fast that your body " sticks to the wall " ---can you tell how much I hate rides--I don't even know the name of them!!! He walks off of them like he was just strolling in the park...(although can't read in the car...feels sick...).This is where and her ride experiments must come into play somehow!! Kranowitz has another book out ...she has the Out-of-Sync-Child (which is great ) and now a book that lists activities....could it be Activities for the Out-of -Synd Child? anyway, the PT in my school had the book and I quickly looked at it...I also think that book is a good investment!!!!! kathy
Guest guest
Spinning has been one of my 12yo dd's hallmark behaviors. One of the things that puts her " on the spectrum " , though she would not be considered fully autistic. She was born at 26 wks, in Russia, adopted at 8 mos of age. Serious supplementation put a dent in it, but it would return again at times. We are now on round 12, and I haven't seen her spin for 4-5 rounds now. Definitely the longest she's ever gone without spinning. Of my two dds being chelated (the other is 33 days older, much bigger girl, with anxiety/phobias, and met the counting rules), this one (ASD behaviors) is my big responder, though she " almost " met the counting rules. The biggest thing it's helping with so far is her EXTREME irritability, which NOTHING we tried before made a difference in. > > From: rsrosenbaum <markrosenbaum@...> > Subject: spinning > > Date: Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 6:40 AM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > My son started spinning! Guest guest
Excitotoxins make our dd do it, also bacteria/yeast, if you are chelating it will cause yeast to flare if you don't already have it under control. > > > > From: rsrosenbaum <markrosenbaum@> > > Subject: spinning > > > > Date: Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 6:40 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My son started spinning!
