Guest guest
Hi Jackie, YES, I think you should go for it. How far are you from Austin? My endo said she thinks I may have metabolic syndrome — told me that almost a year ago — cuz I have high bad cholesterol, low good cholesterol, sometimes high blood pressure, weight gain, etc. She didn’t offer treatment other than to cut carbs and lose weight --- hmmmmmmmmm.... Sue There ya go, and even maybe the government should let us write off on our taxes since the healthier we stay the less gov. money will have to step in the help when our insurance and savings runs dry. I found a page in a magazine (a relocation to TX magazine) It says: Austin Thyroid & Endocrinology Center, by a Dr. Simone Scumpia www.thyroid.ehcmd.com <http://www.thyroid.ehcmd.com> Fro the huge one page color ad it looks like she specializes in Endocrinology, Thyroid, Osteoporosis, and Metabolic (for something called Metabolic Syndrome) I've never heard of that one. It says: Syndrome X is a cluster of medical conditions (abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar and triglycerides, low good cholesterol, polycystic ovaries, hirutism) that leads to diabetes, heart attack, and stroke. One in three men and women have syndrome X. Hmmm???? Thats' a a new new on. I'm going to be in Austin in March, do you think only being able to go to one appt. would be worth it? Jackie Gym memberships absolutely. My doctor's office works with a gym here, but I don't know the details. In Texas, we got our treadmill sales tax free by having a doctor's prescription for it! Guest guest
I'm in San Diego, CA But we'll be in Austin March 9-18th for a mini vacation, look at property and check out the music scene for my daughter. I thought, well, since I'll be there, maybe i could get an appt. I wonder if she would be willing treat me long distance. Do Dr.'s do that? Monday I'll call and ask. I certainly have all the symptoms of "syndrome X". Then I can share how she treats it with all you! ))))JackieHi Jackie,YES, I think you should go for it. Guest guest
Hmmmmmmm, it’s worth a call. See what they think — I would love to see a true specialist with experience and not just book knowledge in metabolic syndrome... I know most docs won’t do any “phone medicine” plus they have too many patients now as it is, at least the good ones. My endo now only takes direct referrals whereas before any one could see her. She is awesome though so I can see why. Sue I'm in San Diego, CA But we'll be in Austin March 9-18th for a mini vacation, look at property and check out the music scene for my daughter.
