Guest guest Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Hi Bernie and Welcome, I am in about 20 yahoo groups. If I want knowledge I join BIG groups but if I want new friends I join little bitty groups. You can get to know people on small lists and even sometimes on big active lists but not as often. I have already learned bunches on this list which is most important to me. I sure know what you mean about church, that happens to me often. Yesterday I took my first Fortamet (metformin) and it made me sick as a dog so I won't be taking it again. I was OK in the morning but by afternoon half dead. I am still wondering why it made me so sick. Alice I've noticed that in just about all my groups that I'm in, I have seen alot of new members come and go because they don't feel like they belong or don't fit in with the group. It's hard for a new diabetic to get started talking to members in a group if they have never been in a support group on-line.This is like walking into a church for the first time and you do not know anyone who goes there and no one is at the door to greet you as you walk in. Most of the time I turn around and walk out just like our new members are doing in our groups. Quote
