Guest guest
Hi Wanda, great to hear it's all over and that you are home. Hope all goes well and your recovery is soon and good. Just a point on the drain removal, ask if the nurse can de-vac the bottles 30 minutes before removing the drains. This stops the suction otherwise if they are removed with the suction still on it can be painful. You will know if the bottles have been de-vacced as you hear a hissing sound. Staples aren't too bad coming out, you could ask for some local anaesthetic cream ~ put it on using a sterile glove and cover it with film for about 40 minutes. Hope all goes well LOL Velvet x(UK) Wanda granny_6@...> wrote: I am home with drains I am doing OK We will have the final pathology report back when I go to follow up on Friday I am fearful of having the drains and staples removed but hopefully that will not be too bad I did not know that the arm on the same side of the breast would be affected I just got told that so it was a shocker Have a great night Wanda

Guest guest
Wanda, Glad to hear your surgery is over. I had absolutely no pain when the drains were removed or when the staples were removed. You have to be very careful with your arm on the surgery side. You don't want to get lymphedema.
