Guest guest Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Good for you Eunice. I don't know what all this complaining is about. The RP group I belong too had the same kind of complaints yeaterday and Sat. It was pretty boring today. There's only so much that can be discussed on any one suject. If you don't like what we talk about use the delete button. Lois Re: Re: Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale/Eunice In a message dated 6/5/2006 9:35:46 P.M. Guest guest Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Gee... how RUDE! If you have had a chance to read the messages on the group, we are like a family here. WE share about EVERYTHING that goes on in our lives, and this includes sales and prayer requests. Sharing and " letting go " of stress is a good way to keep your blood sugars down. Should try it sometime. Too much stress makes you constipated. Emotionaly and physicaly. Angelia in OR In a message dated 6/5/2006 9:35:46 P.M. Guest guest Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I agree, but you can't please everybody. If we tried, the whole point of reducing stress through the group would be pointless > > > Gee... how RUDE! > > If you have had a chance to read the messages on the group, we are like a > family here. Guest guest Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 JUDITH, as far as I am concerned, you just keep purring away about your agile service pup all you want - Service dogs have been recognized in aiding the elderly, autistic children, shut-ins, and those suffering from psychosis (okay, I can't spell & don't want to be so pc incorrect to use the words I can spell - but I mean people who are institutionalized for being insane). Furthermore, if you watch the animal channel on cable there is several programs where hard-time prisoners train dogs either as service for the disabled or simply to rehabilitate dogs to be adopted through the local humane societies. these dogs (& cats too) do wonders for lowering stress which in turn lowers cortisal, which is a major component to belly fat (male weight gain pattern) and I'm sure there are others here besides me that have this issue. Anything that helps lower this chemical that is free I'm all for. Okay critters aren't free, but the benefits from being their caretaker are, and that sure beats paying for another prescription that I can't always remember to take at the right time! Did you ever see the pictures of the " world's ugliest dog " ? that pup was hideous, but think of all the joy he brought others when they realized he didn't belong to them! If you haven't seen his pic's, he looked like a cross between a chinese crested & a shaved 'possum and his braces could have sent an orthodontist's entire family through medical school! musta had too many carbs for dinner tonight - got diarrhea of the mouth anyways, what all this boils down to is: we's your friends here & we's wants to hear about your exercise with your agility service dog - there, take that you curmudgeons - exercise applies to diabetes as much as diet & meds & bg control! knew if I kept at it, I could link my thoughts to being a brat & on point! And just to jab a little deeper/harder if we diabetics don't exercise & maintain control, how many of us would end up needing service animals in the future due to blindness or other secondary health issues........ okay, done being mean for the moment blessed be beth Re: Re: Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale/Eunice maybe the moon is out of conjuction (whatever that means) with the sun or something? Guest guest Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Amen Eunice ... I have been too busy this school year to really read the posts .. at the moment I am starting to go through approx. 250 emails fromt his list. I did not want to simply hit the delete key, but to start reading them again.... so I am behind But once again, Eunice... AMEN Oh.. I am having my mother come stay with me this summer to get her out of the New Orleans area for a bit this hurricane season. She was reluctant to come but decided in the end to do so. It will be nice to have her here and she can spend some time with my two daughters (now grown, married, with children) for a bit besides a week or so of vacation every few years. On the diabetes side... I have been fighting my numbers all school year (I teach). They have been running high for me and my last ac1 test was 7.1 three months ago. I go next weekend for another test. I have a feeling I will be on meds but after all the stress of Katrina and my family down south with that one nasty storm, a sister with heart problems (still continue to have problems), etc. I can understand why they are running higher. I will let the group know what happens after the 23rd when I see my doctor. M Wisconsin -------Original Message------- In a message dated 6/5/2006 9:35:46 P.M. Hi , Once your mom gets to your house, she is going to enjoy every minute of it. And, as usual I spent too much money at bath and body works and the sale has not ended yet. I'll be back there Tues and Fri, I'm sure. I bought a lot of those trial size lotions and shower gels for $2. each. When I know someone has had a bad day or a bad week, I like to put one each of the lotion and shower in a cellophane bag, tie it with a pretty ribbon and attach a card and give it to them to help cheer them up. hugs Eunice Quote

Hi , It takes so little effort to do something nice for someone, but it can make a world of difference in that person's life. Every one needs a friendly smile, hug or just a little something saying, " I care for you " . An example, yesterday was a hard day for me, trying to do housework and keep the virus messages deleted. I'm not complaining, because I love this group. But, last night, just before I got ready to go to bed, I received an email from out of the blue from one of our members. I had been thinking about him, but was not going to send him an email until after this virus stuff had cleared. That message meant a lot. I'm not putting anyone down and I hope no one takes it that way, but we would all be more healthy if we spent less time on " me " and more time on others. I am so sorry about your friend. Did she leave small children? hugs Eunice Quote
Guest guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Eunice, That is such a nice idea. I will have to remember that and keep an eye out for small things of that sort and try to do what you do. It is such a nice gesture of friendship and caring...and we need much more of that in our lives. My school district that I work for is a close group of employees (students also) and we have lost quite a few this year to death.. just recently last week one of the younger teachers (24 yrs old) died in a head on collision the night before our last work day at school. Many in my district could have used something of this sort this past year. I started knitting and crocheting this year and maybe I can do something with that -------Original Message------- When I know someone has had a bad day or a bad week, I like to put one each of the lotion and shower in a cellophane bag, tie it with a pretty ribbon and attach a card and give it to them to help cheer them up. Guest guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 I know she will enjoy it. I need to still go and find a bed for my spare bedroom. I just spent $220 at the vet's yesterday on my dog (almost 15 yrs old) for some problems she is having. I had my car looked at since my horn and cruise does not work, well it needs a part and part and labor would run approx. $250 (think I will just forget about that for now). The vet bill is what did me in for now... not an expected expense. I have to give the dog some medicine twice a day for now (not an easy task with her) and hopefully it will take care of both the unterine infection and lyme's. I hardly ever go to Bath and Body works since the smells in there tend to bother me. I can only do a quick walk in, find what I want right away and pay and then get out. Well, need to start some housework now. M Wisconsin -- Re: Re: Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale/Eunice Hi , Once your mom gets to your house, she is going to enjoy every minute of it.
