Hi ,

You should either call your doctor or you could ask the pharmacist.

When I was first diagnosed several years ago, I was put on Glucophage, 500 mg

twice a day with meals. But then I learned that I was actually taking the

extended release formula, and at my diabetes classes they said I should be

taking it just once a day in the evening, so 1000 mg at night.

I have been on and off my meds (not under medical supervision), but I am

trying to take care of myself now. I go again in a couple of weeks for

education again, but in the meantime I wanted to see if I am understanding

correctly that the extended release should only be taken once a day. I forgot

to clear this up with my new doctor, and I don't see her again for two weeks.

Thanks for the help.

Hi

I take glucophage extended 500. I was told to take it with my meal in

the evening.
