Well then at least one of us will be sparkly if I have a gold star *grin*.

I've decided that I need to just let the surgeon and doctor's weigh me when

I go in for my follow-up visits because I know that I go back and forth

still with holding fluids and that would just depress me to see extra weight

on the scale too often because of it. Had my cleaning lady (yep still too

lazy to do it myself) put the scale - purchased just prior to surgery mind

you - away in a storage closet I can't even reach if I wanted to. Right now

I am just excited to be able to walk and talk at the sametime when walking

in and out of the office building with my boss (I park at the far end of the

parking lot like he does - fitness buff he is) and to not get winded walking

up and down my stairs. Life is good even though I still can't eat salads

which I seem to be craving. 3 weeks post-op today and I am trying VERY hard

to be good and not press my luck with the types of food I put in my belly.

Right now I am really looking at food as ways to get different flavors and

textures because I drink my protein and take all my supplements (how much

Vit C should I be taking I've not been doing any pills of that) so food is a

bonus not a requirement.

Oh and surgery caused me to not be able to tolerate Fruit2O which I loved

before I had it. Now I just love a nice very cold bottle of plain water.

Melanee, when you get to fresh veggies, try some hummus on a

real crunchy piece of green pepper. Yum! Oh -- add some

C goes with iron,. alone, together, on a honey moon for an hour. No caffeine,

dairy, other vites, minerals or meds (unless cleared by the doc or pharmacist to

mix 'em)

Good for you. I don't own a scale, so I don't get weighed until I see the doc,

and depends on the appointment if the girls remember as the attendings see

patients in the clinic and handle about 15-20 surgeons a day, and only get

vitals per their request. Unless I ask to be weighed, since I'm post op wls.

I got tempted one day and was over a relatives and weighed on their scale, and

almost fell off because I was like 15 lbs down in some ridiculous amount of time

like 4-5 days, mind you at times it did drop like that, but then went into

work and we have a stand up scale in our locker room, and those are a tad more

accurate then a standard bathroom scale. Then I happened to have to see the

surgeon, this was within I don't know 4-5 days, and all 3 weights were

different. I finally weigh what was on my brother's scale (on the official scale

and it was a big disappointment). So, need less to say I only use the surgeons

scale, I might add when I go see the pcp, or gyn, as those weights still get

recorded in the computer since all the doc's offices are on the same server to

make charts accessible. So, now I just go by how my clothes feel, and I do

measurements once a month that I just started.

But, remember that you are going to have fluid shifts, and your body because of

the pathophysiology of what's going on with the assault of surgery and healing.

So, I know when I had the bad infections I went almost 3-4 weeks without seeing

a big loss. Then it really started coming off.

Melanee, you also have to remember that when we get weighed that Dr.

Roe`s scale it is a BMI

weight scale ,so if we don`t lose weight ,we are losing fat ,remember no

socks or stockings,
