Guest guest
I dont know if any of you have watched the T.V show Overhaulin before, well it is a show they overhaul people vehicles in a surprise. Well I got on the internet and got an application form to fill out and also am sending this note with it. I would really appreciate any input you would have, if I need to change or delete something or add something too it. This is supposed to be a surprise so please dont mention this to him. There is no guarantees about this but I thought why not try. He doesnt do any emailing so I am safe with this. Love, Sandy Dear Overhauling crew: I would like to give you more details about my husband, myself and his dream car. First of all 8 years ago I was diagnosed with a disease called Primary Lateral Sclerosis a Neurological disease, there are only a little over 500 known cases in the United States. I am on permanent disability now. I am the driver for my husband because since his stroke he is unable to drive. I would need a left foot gas pedal, gear shift extender and a spinner knob put on the Mustang to be able to drive it. Bill was a correctional officer in 2002 for just one year, when he was told that he needed to go to the police academy to get some training. He was doing extremely well Acing his tests. Well in the training, they had to go through obstacle courses, and do tactical force training, during this training he was thrown down on a mat approximately 50 times in one day which tore his carotid artery in his neck which made him have a massive stroke. He almost died with this. He is also permanently disabled. June 3rd of this year I almost lost him again with a tear in his bowel, where the surgeon said if we would have waited one more hour his bowel would have burst and he probably wouldn't have made it. He has had to endure an awful lot these last few years. As I mentioned this car is like one of his kids. He had hopes and dreams at restoring it. Since his stroke he doesn't have the cognitive skills and his whole left side has been effected by the stroke which would make it extremely hard to restore the Mustang. It would mean so much to him to be able to have it restored and on the road. (His baby of a dream car.) I know you said that the car needs to be in running condition. Well before the stroke he had pulled the engine out and was in the process of sand blasting the engine compartment to paint it. We had purchased a new crate 2000 302cid engine, Edelbrock high performance intake, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor 650cfms, and headman headers. He was not able to install the engine due to the stroke. So more or less everything needs to be put into the Mustang. The body has a few dents on it, the carpet is ruined, the upholstery needs replacing as well as paint inside and out. I know you are thinking man alive this is just too much to do, but you would sure make this wonderful person on cloud nine. I am not sure if you charge for these vehicles that you do, with my husband and I being disabled we are really strapped for money. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I guess I am begging you to make my husbands dream come true. It just makes him sick not being able to do this himself. Please consider this for him. This would mean the world to him. Thank you so much, his loving wife, Sandy Grooms
