Guest guest
Hey gang: Thought I'd share my latest adventure. I went to the Big Annual 4th of July Arts and Crafts Fair. My first adventure with loads of walking since I started with my cane. Since my four years of having a stalker following me around, I tend to be a bit paranoid. So here I am determined to make it through the fair with a smile on my face and no falls. Thousand of people, all shapes, sizes and idiosyncracies. There I was..Blonde hair up in a twist, melon top, white shorts, and flourescent pink toenails. So when the stares started I just smiled and assumed I stood out with my colors. I saw her watching me. I passed her several times as she pushed the stroller. Each time I saw her assess me in detail. She was watching my legs move and my slow gait. As I got up from a rest in the shade (heat index 98) she approached me. " You and I are making it just fine aren't we? " I had to ask her to repeat because I didn't understand where she was coming from. She said both her knees were bad and she would have to use two canes. Instead she got a baby stroller. She went into great detail how the canopy was great for carrying your food and the seat carried all your packages. And she continued people don't stare like they would if I had the canes. How's that for finding a way everyday? Bless her heart. She wanted to share something that might make my life easier. and I might just try it....if I can find t-shirt that says " Grandma in training " on the back. lol As for the fair, I walked for 3 hours and only stopped because I ran out of money.
