Guest guest
Hi, Doug, While a number of voice recognition programs are presently on the market, all of them are designed to work best with a user whose voice remains stable over a long period of time. That allows the user to train the software one time, and within a small margin, the software will recognize the speach. Regrettably, PLS may involve speach, which normally results in a progressive problem. The result is continual training the software. There is one program that automatically goes into training mode each time it is accessed. The software is called Dragon Dictate. My spouse, Bettie Jo, is not able very understandable. Just about everyone the " talks " with might get an occasional word. In fact, I have a great deal of problem understanding her. However, she has been using Dragon Dictate since 1977. The software has worked well for her. Right now she has a 50% first time recognition rate. She uses it daily, " writing " stories, poems, and prayers. She also emails her family (and me) on almost a daily basis. While the program is old (in computer terms) and is not supported by the maker (which has changed hands twice since 1997), it is still available. Hope that helps.
