Guest guest
To be more accurate, PLS does not morph into ALS. Rather, ALS presents itself as PLS until the disease progresses enough to be recognized as ALS. The line in the sand is the involvement of lower motor neurons. When EMG testing indicated a substantial involvement of the lower motor neurons, then the disease then fits the ALS category. Don
Guest guest
I have done a lot of reading on it and many believe PLS is a ALS gene that didn't fully develop and eventually it finishes the development, but I think we a cutting hairs here ;-) dale Re: TO TERAHERT - Morph to ALS > To be more accurate, PLS does not morph into ALS. Guest guest
Dale, PLS is an upper motor neuron disease, but it signals the lower motor neurons. If the upper neurons don't work, then the lower motor neurons can't work. Hope that helped. Guest guest
Not arguing that, ALS attacks the upper and lower motor neurons. The killing of the lower is what will eventually kill ALS people and why PLS doesn't. dale Re: TO TERAHERT - Morph to ALS > > > > > > > To be more accurate, PLS does not morph into ALS.
