Again I forward this on FYI for anybody interested in more info on a

company already using Cord Blood Stem Cell Therapy. I have no interest

in pursuing this treatment YET?? but there are others out there whose

conditions are progressing rapidly and who may be grateful for any such

info, so this is for them.

Duuuh!! :-( Forgot for a sec that unlike the other groups I am

in PLS-FRIENDS (for good reason) rejects attachments. The attachment I

refer to was a 19 page well spread out Word document from Biomark.

If anybody wants me to send it directly to them just email me at

covo@... with Biomark or PLS-FRIENDS in the subject somewhere

so it isn't treated as spam. I will wait a day or two before sending it

out so I get most people in one hit rather than doing them individually.

As of last week, I was looking into this company very seriously

because I was diagnosed with ALS. I'm thrilled to report that both

Dr. Siddique in Chicago and Dr. Rosenfeld at the Carolinas ALS

center have told me that I do NOT have ALS, but do have PLS. I never

thought I'd be happy to have PLS, but heck, it's better than ALS.

I spoke to Brown in London and got some other info, so if

anyone wants to talk to me, just email edith@.... There may also

be a way to negotiate a lower price for the treatment.

the point that they determined it was PLS rather than ALS?

Excellent news Edith! :-)

Like you said and as we all know, it isn't all that crash hot to have

PLS but it is one heck of a lot better than ALS!

Apparently Biomark do group discounts as there was a woman from the

lowdosenaltrexone group who was trying to organise a few Aussies to get

it done together because then (from memory) the price dropped from

US$21,000 to around US$10,000 each.

Dr. Siddique examined me and I had another EMG. His colleage, Dr.

Sufit told me that I did not have ALS. I also went to the Carolinas

Neuromuscular/ALS Center in Charlotte, NC for a 2-day evaluation and

consults with its director, Dr. Rosenfeld. He tested 3

muscles to check against the first EMGs and confirmed that I do not

have ALS but do have PLS.

It's been a long haul, but I believe I can stop now and enjoy my

life. By the way, the Carolinas clinic is wonderful and I would

recommend them highly.

I guess the message from all this is Don't give up and find the best

expert in neuro disorders, especially ALS and PLS. It may be costly

to travel but in the end, it could be worth it.

Yep, that's how the price gets lower. I met someone on line who had

the treatment (from Washington state) and she also promised a group

and paid $10K. If I went, I would be part of her group.
