Oh Lavon

I am so sorry this is happening. It brings back such emotions for

me. As a drug rep who was 3rd in the nation in 1998, a year later I

was told I had to do 3 drug details in 2 minutes or leave the sales

force. I got a lawyer an employment lawyer. He wrote a letter and

they silenced for 2 months. Then one day I was supposed to meet my

boss but was ambushed as you were. This time the company insisted I

was mentally unfit for the job. I was put off work with pay for 2

months while they put me through two different psychiartist's

evaluation (took 'em 4 weeks to find the right one they thought they

could pay off). Lawyer told me to ride the tide. Both psychs told me

I was fine but to get a lawyer because the beg corporates were after

me. Again with the lawyer's letter I went back to work HOWEVER in my

absence the fellow reps and all my customers were told I was a mental

case and their help was needed to assure I left the work force. The

stress of this caused more symptoms and the initial Dx of ALS.

It was awful Lavon. One Doc had be reported for working drunk

because of my slurr. I went to a Christmas party for the company out

of state. The boss poured wine on me. The waiter spilled a whole

pitcher of cream on my black dress. Everyone shunned me. BECAUSE

talking to me was career-suicide. At that point my lawyer shared the

stats in ADA cases...they are awful and even the cases that win have

an average reward is like $18,000. So we opted for comapny

disability from the sales force. For the next 2 years I begged big

corporate Pharmacia/Pfizer to reassign me. Instead they put

detectives on me to try and prove I wasn't disabled. When I reported

the spying to the LTD company, then they put on a push to make sure I

got on SSDI permanently. I'll never forget being at Curves exercises

as we all watched a man in a van videotaping me through the window

front.

SO my advise is to fight to set the record straight on your work

ethics and performance but to take steps to (Pardon my French) GET

THE HELL OUT OF DODGE. Corporate espionage is horrid.

And remember this too will pass.
