She is checking out best sites at area parks right now. She picked a date - September 18 - and is going to work hard to make this happen. It will start off with a Casual Connection for everyone to meet and mingle and then head out for their TeamWalk For Our Cures. It's so exciting we are growing! This is our major annual effort to raise funds for research! Growth means more money in the hands of researchers working on our diseases. And you know what that means! We are making this train move a little faster. Us, the rarest of the rare! So, we have the Kick-off Weekend with the national Research and Beyond Conference featuring Drs. Fink and Marchuck (who received the first SPF Research Awards) and leading experts from Harvard Medical School to talk about Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine research, TeamWalk For Our Cures walkathon and weekend socials in Massachusetts on August 27-29 with our Finale at the Satellite TeamWalk in northern California on October 2 (I'll be there!). Looks like we'll have our Toledo Satellite TeamWalk in between the Kick-off and Finale on September 18. Sue is talking to her family about holding a Satellite TeamWalk in her lil town in Arkansas, too. Of course we'll have our wonderful by Proxy (from everywhere) program. We'll match you with a designated to wear your name tag and walk for you on August 29 in Massachusetts. And put your photo on the board! Details are cookin' and we'll let you all know them as they get set. One thing for sure: We have an electric Scooter as top prize this year! The winner will be announced at the California finale TeamWalk. We also have a 2nd place prize of a portable DVD player and a 3rd place prize of a DVD-Audio/Videa Changer. These are thanks to Midwest Medical and Panasonic! I'm pretty sure that Midwest Medical will also give us another electric Scooter that we'll have as a TeamWalk Raffle item!
