Guest guest
Sandy, never had any problems with constipation. In fact, I never even knew it was a possibility. His was in his small intestine though and I don't think it gets solid until it moves to the large. Not sure, that's just medical 101 jeanne ann style. He did have an accident or two. Once he caught the bag on something and pulled it open. WHEW! I cleaned it up - It is amazing what you can do if you have to. His was always a thick liquid. Several times the thing that sticks to his skin came off during the night. Messy and humiliating. He really did learn to adjust though and function normally. He mowed, ran the weedeater, etc. You just learn to be prepared. May I make a suggestion? Put a COMPLETE change of clothing and a package of wipes in the vehicle and never leave home without them. And always take plenty of supplies. Take care, Jeanne Ann Neff Re: Update on Chris Hi all, We're back!! The surgery was a success, the ostomy reversed and all is well. In fact, is doing wonderful. Thank you all so much for your prayers. It is a powerful and great thing to know that people all over the world pray when you need it. God bless you all. Guest guest
Thank you once again Medical 101 Jeanne Ann, My hubbys is on the large intestine they had to remove part of it because of the damage. That was a very good suggestion on keeping supplies on hand. I am going to pack a bag and put it in our SUV today. You never know when you are going to need them. It would have been terrible if we were away from home the other day when he had the problem with the diahrea. It is nice to be able to speak to someone that has experienced the same thing. How long was he in the hospital to get everything reconnected? Jeanne Ann thank you, Sandy Re: Update on Chris Hi all, We're back!! The surgery was a success, the ostomy reversed and all is well.
