Guest guest Posted June 5, 2004 Report Share Posted June 5, 2004 NatureAn organization in Phoenix called ABIL... Arizona Bridge to Independent Living.... has these great " tickets " made up. They say something like " You are illegally parked in a handicap parking space. If this was a real ticket you would have been fined $250.... " I have left some on people's cars, and although it may or may not make an impression, it certainly made me feel better!! We have to make people aware. Here in AZ it seems that every person over 60 has a handicap card or plate. I often see these people leap out of their cars and trot into the store. It makes me so mad. I understand that some disabilities can't be seen, but I also think that doctors need to more discriminating about who they give this privilege to. Granted like you said some disabilities are not always visible but I have to wonder why they were granted one. I just figure if they can walk the mall (over a mile) and smoke a cigarette they are a whole lot healthier then I am. Grrrrrrrrr..
