Guest guest Posted December 6, 2004 Report Share Posted December 6, 2004 Hi All, My name is and I am the mom to 2 boys. Jed is 11 and Liam will be 4 on Sunday. Liam was born deaf, started hearing some at about 9 months of age. He had surgery on his right ear in Sept. 2002 to close a fistula. He has mild to moderate hearing loss. He is in a special needs preschool for the developmentally delayed. He also has epilepsy and RSS ( a form of dwarfism). His hearing trouble is just now starting to become a problem for him. It was recommend to us, from the audiologist at his ENT's office that we get hearing aids for him. Even though his loss is mild, since it is becoming a problem for him they feel he will benefit from them. Well, my insurance won t cover it because they say his hearing is not bad enough and we really can not afford them right now. Although we are trying to find a way.
