Guest guest
Shame on her!! Parking To all, Last night it was raining here and we went to the theater to see the show The Day after Tomorrow. There was a van beside us so close we could hardly get the chair between the cars. This lady had her window down smoking and her radio up playing country music so loud your head would shake and her son was in there with her. She had a handicap plate on the van. When we started up to the window to pay for our movie. This lady got out with her son and nothing was wrong with either one of them. She saw how hard it was for us to get in the little slot for the chair and did nothing and said nothing. I was terrible angry but did not say anything to her. Guest guest
---Jane Anne, I know it is so frustrating when you see that. I once read that parking permits were for the mentally ill too. I guess I made a joke, but I did read it somewhere. Guest guest
Jane Anne: There are so many inconsiderate people in this world ( I call them ignorant jerks) just chalk it up to experience, and by God if you want tell them how you feel,it makes you feel so good. Forget your a lady LOL!!! Rita .. Love & Hugs ************************************* Some people succeed in spite of their handicap. Others succeed because of them. Guest guest
You have to be careful what you say to people now a days, but I probably still would say something and my boys would cringe and want to run away LOL I remember when they were little and they went up to the tastee freeze counter and I was slow getting out of the car and hobbling to the counter and a lady stepped in front of them and I said excuse me ma'am just because they are kids gives you no right to step in front of them and my boys told me to be quiet and not worry about it, but WHAT'S RIGHT IS RIGHT! I really think that is what is partly wrong with this world--we tolerate too much ignorance and rudeness and don't stand up to these as Rita would call them " ignorant jerks " and as I would call them, idiots, which may not be nice, but they aren't nice either! Guest guest
Jane Anne, What a dirty rotten and terrible person she was to be that way. You called her a lady, boy you must be a real nice person because In my book I wouldnt call that a lady at all. It is really sad how people can act. I am sorry you had to go through that. It is so hard to keep our mouths closed at times. Go and treat yourself to an icecream cone and smile at the person you are. Guest guest
I have always thought what better police officer kind of person then a really handicap person. I thought about writing our governor to consider making a positions for just that. If we had the " Official " title we could be writing tickets while we were out. Wouldn't that be great! Silly thought I know.........grrrrrrrrr Flora
Guest guest
Jane Anne, It infuriates the heck out of me to see the handicapped parking being abused and it is abused more than we think. In this state, you can have two handicapped mirror tags or one handicapped license plate. Beings we own two cars, we opted the two mirror tags. I can not speak for the license plate, but the mirror tag has a number written on it and that number is the diver's license number of the handicapped. If that person is not an occupant of that vehicle when parked in a handicapped parking space, that vehicle is in violation and can be ticketed. In this state too, the vehicle can be sited a ticket if the mirror tag is hanging from the mirror when the vehicle is in motion and it so states that on the tag. Now I have a question. All handicapped parking spaces are marked and have signs stating a fine of $50 - $250. If illegally parked, what determines a $50 or anything in-between to $250 fine?? You all have a great day. Guest guest
In our area, private citizens are trained to write tickets for persons parked in handicapped spaces. For the most part, those citizens are members of the disabled community. Don Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane? Guest guest
, Someone wrote about the parking fees going to a trust to help send a child to collage. If we all could talk to the police department and see if we could not do this in every state sponsored by PLS & HSP. Guest guest
Jane Anne, Great idea!!! But what determines a $50 - $250 fine? Now, will the police ticket a car on private property? Most parking lots are private property and private property parking lots are out of the police jurisdiction, I think? Guest guest
HI FLORA, THIS ISN'T AS SILLY AS YOU THINK. I READ THAT IN ONE TOWN THE HANDY CAPABLE PEOPLE DID WRITE TICKETS FOR THOSE PARKING IN THEIR SPOTS. IT WAS WHEN THEY FIRST CAME UP WITH THE SPECIAL PARKING. I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE.
