Guest guest
Hi, my husband Charlie Gray is getting a microphone that attaches to a portable radio for his voice. I believe it will have like a belt (amplifier) around his waist and the microphone will be over his head or around his neck - this is all coming from American Home Patient care and FSU University. They hope it helps him to speak clearer and save his voice some. Thanks, June
Guest guest
Hi Doug: My speech problem is more constant than intermittent and I am presently in the process of trying out different speech devices. For 6 weeks I will try the Enkidu PalmTop with a detachable keyboard and after that I am going to try the DynaWrite. I live in Ontario and they have a loan closet through the ALS Society and you can pay $25 for 6 weeks to try one out. They really look pretty neat. Don't know if anyone else in the group has tried them but if they have I am sure they will give you some feedback. Take care. Guest guest
I cannot speak at all, I did try a little unit from ALS, but I found to small to work with. I can let my computers do the talking for me. The MacIntosh has speech software installed, and works with the Simple Text program, you just type in what you want to say, and will say it for you. you can select male or female voices to do the talking for you. For my Compaq Laptop I got a FREE program that you can get form the following: http://readplease.com/rpdownload.php it works like the program named above.
