Some of it doesn't make sense, but what do I know : ) OH-butyric acid - A fatty acid derived from butter but rare in most fats. Used in disinfectants and pharmaceuticals. Couldn't find the keto words, but ketone acids are the end product of fat metabolism. Couldn't find the Hydro word. Benzoic acid - Used in keratolytic ointments, and as a food preservative. Saccharin is a derivative of this acid. Succinic- An intermediate in carbohydrate metabolism. B
