The answer is no! The southern blot just tests for a small number of mito

problems with known mutations. I don't even know if any mtDNA is even part

of the test. I know that some of the nDNA is tested. I know how frustrating

it is to want to know how it is passed along in your family. Our family

appears to affected by a defect in the mtDNA, but we have nothing to prove

it.
