Guest guest
The answer is no! The southern blot just tests for a small number of mito problems with known mutations. I don't even know if any mtDNA is even part of the test. I know that some of the nDNA is tested. I know how frustrating it is to want to know how it is passed along in your family. Our family appears to affected by a defect in the mtDNA, but we have nothing to prove it. laurie > From: Mrsmurffy@... > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 19 Feb 2004 13:12:43 EST > To: > Subject: : southern blot question > > If you have anegative southern blot does that mean that there is no > possibility of a mtDNA disorder? > thanks > >
