Guest guest
This is the first time I have posted although I have been in this group for 2 months or so. I have been reading the messages and decided to get on board all the way. I've had whatever this is for over 40 years. I didn't persue anything until I got to where I couldn't keep up with my job as a Home Health nurse. I just thought I was a clumsy teenager! I went the testing route in the 90s and had every test in the book. Now I have a diagnosis of PLS or HSP. My mother who was 96 when she passed away of congestive heart failure was stiff, fell some, had vertigo but, was never tested. So that keeps HSP in the picture. I am on baclofen 10 mg, 1 in the morning, 1 at noon(if I remember to take it), and 2 at bedtime. I get blurred vision if I go any higher. My neurologist, Dr. Bedlack at Duke, keeps asking me about the pump. I am still ambulatory but fall alot as my balance is way off, my legs feel funny and are stiff(the baclofen helps this), I drop things--misjudge where to set them on the counter, and have poor penmanship. But I don't feel I need the pump yet. Dale seems to be having a hard time right now and I just don't feel I'm ready to go through all the changes. Oh, I went to Spring Fling in Berkeley Springs, WVa and I packed the car on Sunday to head back to NC as the snow " flurred " around me. Also, I saw Ronnie's drawers and they are neat and unique! Thanks ahead of time for your input as I am looking forward to the responses especially from those of you who are on baclofen. I also will have my 65th birthday this year and that opens up a new can of worms. Decisions- decisions! I live alone. My 3 sons and their familys live in other states. Friday, I was very overwhelmed with all of this as I was having bad blurred vision from the baclofen which I'd been increasing per doctor's orders and felt bad all over. I grabbed hold of the Sernity Prayer and have gotten back in a more positive mode and am better. I didn't mean for this to be so long but once I got started I really got going! All of you, have a good day coming up.
