Good morning Mike,

Yes, my speech is slurred, especially when fatigued. Speech Therapy

will tell you to slow down and make a big effort to enunciate your words

more clearly. I really do not know if it is the medicine that causes

this or the disorder? This may help you or confuse you more. Anyway

have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Baclofen and speech?

I have been on Baclofen for about three months now and have noticed some

benefits. I have also notice my speech become slurred and hard

consonants

are harder to do. Has anyone else notice this side effect?

Mike

Thats not neccessarily the neurontin ,that is what my first symptom was

with PLS .It will be 5 years in Dec. at times it seems better, mornings are

problably my best .Been experimenting speaking laying on one side or

another and speaking .trying to alter it .Also if i get upset and try to

talk i lose my breath have to keep real quiet and calm seems to help

..strange but when neighbors come over to talk just standing in one spot and

talking seems to lock me up .Watch and see if you get this ??can't take

Baclofen ended up in emergency because my diaphram would'nt open my lungs

for breathing .Tizanadine made me sleepy .neurontin did nothing .now on

dantrium havent noticed much change yet .also i find if i force the words

out i get better speech articulation but some think im hollering .might try

that ?Thinking of asking for Celebrex COX -2 inhibitor aleve is a COX -1

inhibitor .might look it up on www.medlineplus.gov Hoping for a cure GEO
