I'm a pregnant mom who will be giving birth to a wonderful, loved baby girl

who will most likely have club feet. I'm looking for support and

information from others who have been there and have tips, hints and such.

Thanks for approving my involvement.

Welcome Ed. It is my understanding that if you child has no other

disabilities or syndromes that can be connected to CF than it is idiopathic. It

doesn't

really matter because for the most part Ponseti method treatment is the same

unless there is something else that may be congenital that would need to be

corrected (missing a bone, ligaments etc) where surgery is required anyway.

I don't know of any doctors in the ines that practices Ponseti, but

maybe someone else can answer that. I would urge you to try to find a Ponseti

trained dr. if at all possible.

Good Luck

Hi Ed,

I think clubfeet can be both congenital and idiopathic

at the same time:

Congenital means: " present at birth " .

Idiopathic means: " arising from an unkown cause " .

I think idiopathic also means that there are no other

deformities/symptoms present.

Sorry but I don't know of any doctor in the

Philippines...

All the best,
