Guest guest Posted May 6, 2001 Report Share Posted May 6, 2001 Hi Vera, Dave has taken cranberry capsules and I have tried everything I can think of to stop so many infections. Nothing helps. He can't tolerate in and out caths, by the end of the day, he is so obstructed that I can hardly get the cath in and there will be bright red blood in his urine. I was reading info on supra pubic caths last night and is sounds as if this might be the way to go for Dave. THe cath is changed once a month by a home health nurse and it decreases the chances for UTis. I read an email from Judy and Mark has one, she seems very pleased with it. I haven't heard from the doctor yet but I am going in the am and take a urine specimen to him. I am going to try and talk to him then. Hope Fred is better.
