Sue,

Congratulations! I remember when I first found my wrist and ankle bones, I

thought they were so pretty and feminine. One of my friends told me to be

careful because I was going to get into an accident starting at my wrist bones

driving all the time! I can't wait to feel my hip bones when I'm standing!

Hello to all you good people from windy Las Vegas!

Just wanted to share with you a good moment I had today.

As some of you are aware, as we ride this roller coaster of WLS we go

through many exciting and breathtaking moments. (many turn your tummy

moments too!) These moments sometimes just take your breath away and seem

so very unreal. But you take them as they come and continue on the ride.

Now that I'm 2 1/2 years post op these moments don't come as often now.

Yes, I still have a few reality checks from time to time, but generally I'm

off the roller coaster and now on an inner tube floating down the river.

And here's what happened today! I FOUND MY HIP BONES! Now some of

you may say, " so what? I found my hip bones a long time ago. Found my

collar bone and ribs too! " Yeah, yeah.....I thought the same thing. But

today when I found my hip bones, I was standing up :o) I fall asleep at

night with my hand on my pelvis just because I can feel it, and I touch my

collar bone and shoulders about 100 times a day. But I never, ever felt

real honest to God hip bones on me!

So I'll continue on doing my happy jiggly flabby, wrinkly happy-hip

dance! and sharing my excitement with you all!

Hey, I am still in the hip bone feeling stage. Like I can get tired of this?

For years I looked for bones, hoped for bones, imagined bones. Even dieted down

to my starved-but-still-round version of thin, I had no hip bones cuz I had the

biggest tummy on earth. I am not tired of hip bones. I check every night before

I go to bed, and check when I get up. If I get up in the night, I check.

I do NOT think you are excessive at all. Congrats on finding 'em. And now, to

feel them become more pronounced! OOOOOOOO!

Thanks,

I know just how you feel-although I am almost 8 years post op-I still get a

thrill every single day feeling and seeing those wonderful collar, hip, and

rib bones. Like you , every night I run my hands over my hips, in

the morning also, so fearful that they will somehow go away never to be seen

again! Heck I get a thrill seeing the veins in my hands and arms, in the

old days, I didn't think I had bones or veins-everything was buried so deep

in all that flesh. So keep on enjoying the adventure!

Regards,

ej
