Guest guest
I experience some nausea but it's the same type of butterflies-in-the- stomach sensation I associate with my usual, run-of-the-mill anxiety attacks. The A-FIB exacerbates the anxiety and vice versa. > > In a message dated 12/5/2004 9:43:38 A.M. Central Standard Time, > germainefisher@y... writes: > > had a beauty of an attack yesterday. The A-FIB exacerbates the anxiety and vice versa. Or may be you do not have anxiety attacks... only AFib???? Contrary to what so many doctors told me, my problems are physical and knowing it helps me cope I am in almost constant AFib now and still waiting for my doctor and Medi-Cal (Medicaid) to agree on the medication: 3 weeks and counting... Guest guest
Francoise, Thanks for your thoughts. I went through treatment for anxiety and depression about four years ago. (Long story short: I was in a power struggle with an assistant vice president ... I lost.) I learned then how to recognize my particular symptoms of anxiety, and antidepressant therapy helped ease the depression through eight months of being out of work. I was diagnosed with A-FIB only a year ago. Prior to that, I had had no cardiac-related anxiety symptoms (racing heart, skipped beats, etc.). Plus, treating the A-FIB now does zero for the anxiety and depression: I have been in NSR on a cardiac monitor and still felt absolutely crummy mentally. At least for me, there are definitely two sides to how I feel --the mental and the physical-- with enough separation between the two for me to recognize a clear difference. Perhaps others have comments? I hope you get agreement on medication for your A-FIB soon.
