Guest guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 i was on it for 8 yrs and felt a little better but never got rid of alot of side effects like chronic fatique, weakness, abnormal periods, etc until i started Armour Thyroid which is both t4 and t3 which i started a month ago and I feel so good. I wish I had known about armour thyroid sooner. Most Endocrinologists will NOT prescribe armour so you have to really search for someone that will. Bu who knows the synthetic levoxyl might work fine for you. Guest guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Hi there. I was on Levoxyl only the last two years and never felt any better, and then we added in Cytomel which is T3 in addition to the Levoxyl which is just T4 and I have slowly but surely been losing a little weight, have good energy and my feet and hands are warm and the bloating in my face has subsided. Do you have your lab results, if you do please post with your ranges for TSH, T3F and T34 if your doc took them. Sue hi there. what are some things i should know about lemoxyl? i read about it online but i would like to hear some personal experiences if possible. i have hypothyroidism. and im swollen all over and research says that the swelling will go away. hehe and i went and had my rings resized. oops. so what should i know? should i take my vitamin? its a walgreens brand A to Z vitamin. i was reading that maybe i shouldnt? thank you very much. Guest guest Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Hi, I've been on Levoxyl for a year and thus far am pleased w/ the results. I've had my dose increased five times since starting it last June and am now on 112mg. The key was to find a doctor who would work with me. My endo told me my sleep problems were a " disorder " so I went to my GP. Based on what I had learned on-line I knew my numbers were off and my GP agreed that my dose was too low. Lucky for me, she has had thyroid problems too so she understood and said that we would increase it gradually until I felt better. I then had my blood drawn six weeks after being on a new dose and we went from there. I have found it helpful to take mine first thing in the a.m. on an empty stomach. I then take all my vitamins before I go to bed each evening. My symptoms prior to finding the right dose included: anxiety attacks, night sweats, muscle twitching and weakness, being cold all the time, and not sleeping well. Adding Magnesium, Potassium, Selenium and Melatonin to my regular multi-vitamin helped with these. I also knew I was doing better when started to sweat again while exercising. It may take some time but Levoxyl may work for you. If not there are other options as this group has said. It's a great resource. I hope this is helpful and good luck. a __________________________________________________ Quote

Guest guest Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 unless we know what that refers to it doesn't mean much, sorry. It sounds like it might be your TSH, which needs to be under one. Do you have your results for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 and the lab ranges? If not, ask the doctor for them (drs are legally obliged to give you your results) and post them here................Meleese in Oz xxx ----- Original Message ----- From: Cottrill um i just know its 31.01 whats that mean? thank u so very much for responding. so levoxyl has worked well for you so far? they started me on half of the pink pill to start. when should i start seeing results? jytdtp wrote: Hi there.I was on Levoxyl only the last two years and never felt any better, and then we added in Cytomel which is T3 in addition to the Levoxyl which is just T4 and I have slowly but surely been losing a little weight, have good energy and my feet and hands are warm and the bloating in my face has subsided.Do you have your lab results, if you do please post with your ranges for TSH, T3F and T34 if your doc took them.Sue hi there. what are some things i should know about lemoxyl? i read about it online but i would like to hear some personal experiences if possible. i have hypothyroidism. and im swollen all over and research says that the swelling will go away. hehe and i went and had my rings resized. oops. so what should i know? should i take my vitamin? its a walgreens brand A to Z vitamin. i was reading that maybe i shouldnt? thank you very much. Guest guest Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Hi, As far as when you will start seeing results: it takes about six weeks for the body to adjust to a new dose. Hopefully during/after this time your symptoms will diminish somewhat. I think it is rare that a person starts on the " right " dose immediately. This is why you will need to have your blood drawn at the six week point. Make sure they look at your Free T3 and Free T4. This will tell you how well you are converting. I've notice that I began to feel better as my TSH levels got closer to zero. I've read that this is the case for many folks. __________________________________________________ Quote

Guest guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 For about a year they have had trouble finding my veins to draw blood. i have always had good visible veins. does that have something to do with the hypo thyroid? Quote
Guest guest Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 YES....when hypo...you have edema and are VERY dehydrated at the same time. MAKES it terrible to find vein. Drink, Drink, Drink lots of water (avoid caffiene) before you go..... ~E:)krazycottrill wrote: For about a year they have had trouble finding my veins to draw blood. i have always had good visible veins. does that have something to do with the hypo thyroid? ~EG Connecticut T-T 2 years ago - 60 mcg Synthetic/97.5mg Armour Ring'em or ping'em.
