Then it seemed to go away. When she was 4 and started Periactin, she got tummy aches again and threw up. Zantac (mixed in grape juice for what she calls her " energy drink " is AWESOME!!! She NEVER complains of a tummy ache now). So now, I don't think Zantac is too heavy. You might find that he eats a whole bunch more if his tummy isn't hurting. Sometimes they don't know that there is any difference because they are so little and their tummy has always hurt. Zantac starts, and bam, appetite increases! Wish you good luck! Try mixing it with purple grape juice. Guest guest Posted May 7, 2001 Report Share Posted May 7, 2001 In response to the inquiry about Zantac: Jake (currently 14 months) began taking Zantac when he was about one month old. He would sometimes vomit almost entire meals through his mouth and nose before Zantac. Some meals would come up forcefully and others would come out more " gently " . Since he has been on Zantac things are much better. When he was younger he would still spit up a little, but now after being on it a year never spits up/vomits unless he is truly sick. Jake takes the Zantac easily and has no noticeable side effects. My understanding is that even though kids shows no visible signs of vomittinng it is important to remember that some kids have silent reflux (food comes back up, but doesn't come out of the nose or mouth).
