Guest guest
- I really have no idea. We don't have any ID doctors locally. I guess if need be I could see one on my next trip to Cleveland. It's just seems like it should be an easily alleviated problem yet it hasn't been.
Guest guest
, I don't have any ideas for you, but I sure hope they can get this cleared up. Maybe you just need a longer course of something. What about an infectious disease doc looking into it? LILQT4U1984@... wrote: I just recieved the report of my 3rd urine C & S and I'm still growing e/coli. I've had this ongoing since the end of Dec. I was on 10 days of Septra and then 2 wks of Macrobid. I've now been off antibiotics for 2 wks and it's still there. I'm waiting for my urologist to get out of surgery and call in my 3rd antibiotic. Any ideas? I think by now it would have had to adhered to my urinary tract lining. Guest guest
Dear , Am so sorry that this infection is still present. I had one that lasted almost six months, postsurgically. (Way before the mito dx.) Maybe, as said, you will have to be on something longer. Have you tried the cranberry juice route, in addition to the meds? Am also sorry about some of the doctors' opinions you received in Cleveland. Please don't rush into any surgery. You are so young, , that I believe that new treatments will emerge. Time is on your side. Thanks for the wonderful effort you put into that interview for an article. I know it's a bit scary talking to a writer, over whom you have no oversight at all concerning content. All of us with mito appreciate any educational publicity the disease can generate. Thank you! Take care, , and I hope you will be feeling better soon. Sincerely,

Guest guest
, Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I have gone the cranberry route in the past but not with this recent UTI. I'm still waiting to see what my urologist is going to call in this time. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again,
