Keeping GH cold while camping

Well, JOdi just reminded me that I never told everyone how we ended up keeping

's GH cold while camping. So many of you gave us such great ideas.

Although we did buy the cooler that can plug into the cigarette lighter, it is

not a small item - rather quite large (you can put lots of food and soda in it).

So we didn't bring that.

I found a very small silver/metal thermos with a screw on lid made by Thermos

(maybe 4-5 inches tall). We then put a ziplock bag with ice in it into another

ziplock bag inside the thermos. Then put the vial of GH in another zip lock bag

inside the thermos. Then put the thermos in the cooler. I got it at Target

(and they had lots of different sizes of these). I got the smallest.

This kept everything cold enough for more than 24 hours at at time. Even when

the rest of the ice in the cooler had melted to just water, it kept the thermos

cold enough that we probably could have gone 2 days.

Clearly this would not work for backpacking or any other place where you do not

have access to ice. But we'll cross that bridge when it comes.

The other nice thing about this silver thermos is that it is so easily

identifiable in the cooler. Everyone knew " that is 's medicine). And

the screw on lid made it completely waterproof.
