Guest guest
I work for gastroenterologists and though they were less than thrilled about my plans for surgery, they were very supportive. However when I needed the revision, they wanted me to have it reversed. I Sat down and told them that I am a compulsive eater and though at that time had lost 112 lbs., if I had it reversed, I would gain it all back. Once they saw how committed I was and how informed I was, not only about the surgery, but about who I am, they have done everything to keep me moving. I have had a few set backs, but nothing that a gastroscopy or two or three or four, LOL couldn't fix. Found the problems and took care of them. They've even had some of their new patients call me that are interested in the surgery. My suggestion to you is find a new gastro doctor. It is true, most are not thrilled about the surgery, but you're not looking for their approval, you need their support and expertise if something should go awry. Remember, you're not there to impress them, you did this for yourself. So next time this twit calls you a failure, smile at him and say I'd rather be a failure than an insensitive, self centered ass and go find another doctor. He can't possibly be the only gastro doc in town. Good luck to you. Be persistent and don't let anyone get you down. Regards, Regina
