Guest guest
Sounds very normal. It amazes me how quickly the effects of warfarin go away when its ingestion is stopped. I had essentially the same instructions for getting ready for an umbilical hernia repair. bbbbbbb_b wrote: Hi all Whats peoples experience of tooth extraction while on warfarin. My normal inr runs at 2.2-2.5 and I need to have a tooth extracted as soon as poss. Normally i live in UK but at the moment am in Spain, the dentist here just seems very relaxed and just says...Stop taking the Warfarin for 4 days prior to extraction then start again after....all very laid back. Guest guest
Hi, I have had extractions while taking coumadin, and they went well. One thing that is important is to tell your dentist beforehand. The first time, I forgot to tell her, until she was in the middle of the procedure, and she turned white and almost fainted. I was fine. But tell your dentist first. Guest guest
I've had lots of dental work while on Coumadin, including tooth extraction and I stop just 3 days before! I haven't had any problems with this, but I don't restart my Coumadin until whatever bleeding there is has pretty much stopped. My INR is also around 2.5, but after stopping Coumadin for a few days it always takes a week or so for my INR to return to the right level. Good luck! Guest guest
Yes that is the normal practice. Four days off and then back on the warfare again. No worries. john C Tooth Exraction with warfarin?? > > > Hi all > > Whats peoples experience of tooth extraction while on warfarin. > > My normal inr runs at 2.2-2.5 and I need to have a tooth > extracted as soon as poss.
