Guest guest
I tried and did the sight, put in the password and it wouldnt let me in. I sure hope its not a virus or something. Sandy Re: Notify about your e-mail account utilization. This looks like " phishing " . No reputable vendor will send anyone an email asking for updates of account information. Do NOT open the attachment! If anyone asks for " personal " account information in an email, its probably a scam. From the grammar in this message, I would guess it is coming from the same place as recent Ebay and Paypal scammers. In short, disregard the message, its NOT from Yahoo. If Yahoo has a problem with any of us they will notifty us when we log into the Group. Guest guest
Sandy, Keep an eye on tour credit cards and bank accounts, that's usually what these guys are after. It happened to me last December, they got a lot of money. Call your bank and ask them to monitor all of your accounts and credit cards for anything unusual. Guest guest
Thankyou , I dont put my credit card or bank account info on the computer for anything. I just dont trust things like that at all. Thankyou for the info. In the morning I will do that software thing you mentioned. Thankyou again, Sandy Re: Notify about your e-mail account utilization. Sandy, If you entered any account or credit card information, and then sent it to them, then Gene's right. If however, as you said, you were not able to login with their " secret " password, and you did NOT enter any account information, then you are not in immediate danger. This is called " phishing " (fishing). If you opened the attachment, then it MAY have installed a " keystroke-logger " on your machine. There is a FREE software package available from http://www.webroot.com called " Spy Sweeper " . Download it from there site and run it. It is very reliable and easy to use, and its free. If you didn't enter any account information then don't lose sleep over it tonight. If anyone else opened this attachment and are worried about it, I'm available. Email me privately at pfbryant@... and I'll try to help. B. > Sandy, > > Keep an eye on tour credit cards and bank accounts, that's usually what > these guys are after.
