This is something you should ask your doc about. Steriods are kind of tricky. I can tell you adrenal levels do affect your thyroid levels as they both use each other as 'guages' on how much to run and how quickly.

With my allergy meds, they help me because they keep my adrenals from having to work too hard and they allow them to rest and conserve their energy.

The inhaler that I use will help to stimulate them (I notice if I puff too much, I get very irritable and cranky for about 30 minutes until it wears down).

Personally I feel fine with my meds and they have leveled out my mood swings, etc. I would talk to your doc and make sure that none of your meds are interfering with thyroid meds as many allergy meds can.

Thanks Kat,

I am an infrequent taker of the Benadryl allergy med. I took it for

about 5-6 months in autumn winter of 2004, then about 3 months in autumn

2005, and so far in 2006 I have not taken any. Best to skip it if I

can. Good advice. Thank you

Now I'm off to bed - where I should have been 2 hours ago - but I still

can't get out of my night-owl mode.
