Re: Wrk at Home? Amber I have worked at home for years, but it’s been in a field and business I have done for 30 years – typesetting and book design. If you have skills you can put to use RIGHT now I can recommend a site where you can start to earn money. It is a paid subscription site and you bid for the chance to win the freelance work..i have been a member for two and a half years. It’s called Elance.com and it’s the ebay of FREELANCING. I have made steady clients over the years and get new ones each month...They have all kinds of jobs from accounting, to writing, editing, transcribing, graphic design, customer service ( I did that from home for a year too) and so on.Won’t hurt to go and look around --- and see if there’ s any work you are qualified for and to look how bids are written.Elance takes a fee from each job but they are your “sales person” so it’s worth it for me as opposed to not having the work.Let me know how it goes.Sue

sue

I'm not sure if it's something named adrenal support, however if your adrenal levels (dhea & cortisol) are low or slightly off, your doctor can help you figure out if you need adrenal support based on your symptoms.

Adrenal support is a stimulant that will give the adrenal glands a rest in your body that you take usually orally, and over time it will allow your adrenal glands to build up their reserve again (imagine running the mile full speed then trying to walk afterwards... incredibly hard to do... if you run the mile then immediately rest you can get up and walk after with little to no problem) that is what adrenal support is.

Mine comes in the form of allergy medicine (which controls histamines and blocks them so my adrenal glands get to save their energy for stress or regular function rather than just allergy control) as well as an inhaler for asthma.

The best form of adrenal medication honestly is plenty of rest and sleep. Drink lots of water to... for some reason if your lower back hurts (like when you're on or getting ready to start your period -adrenals) and you drink lots of water it kind of pushes against your adrenals and they won't hurt so much. When my back starts hurting is when I know I'm dehydrated or I need to up my thyroid meds.

Rest will help your body to relax and to help reset it's function. This is why a person can go days without eating and still be marginally healthy where as if they go days without water or sleep they can become seriously ill or die.

I honestly advocate listening to your body... if you need a break.. take one. If you are tired, rest. If you want to clean the house and it just happens to be 3am... well, if you have the energy... do it. Just do it slowly and with no hurry. Being in a hurry stimulates the adrenal glands and you either feel more tired OR you start getting the jitters, heart palpitations, high pulse rate, etc.

It may take years to get your adrenals/thyroid in sync in proper working order. But it is well worth it. Here is what I can tell you that has worked for me. Because for the first time in years this is what I've done today:

washed 2 loads of dishes in the dish washer

vacuumed our entire apartment minus bedrooms (living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and 2 hallways)

cleaned the counters, dusted, fed the cats...

It's been a long time since I've been able to do this. The biproduct is that I'm a bit shaky but nothing bad that a little rest isn't curing. Just sitting to type my email to you all is giving me that.

You will find what helps you in time. Just listen to your body, stay away from adrenal stimulants as much as you can help it (stress, allergens, certain medications, etc.) and you will be able to have a routine.

Do I still have days where I don't want to do jack? yes... however since being on the allergy meds & inhaler I feel 100% better because my adrenal glands are getting to rest and my thyroid isn't as inflamed.. I had problems swallowing the other day but I think it was because I didn't take my allegra the day before until about 3pm (oops).

If you want something on the market DON'T use the herbal supplements... you never know if you are allergic to the ingredients since many are exotic and not available to mass consumers. Stick with support that offers b complex vitamins (niacin, b12, etc.)

Nutri-meds has adrenal support, it comes from dessicated gland of cow. You can also talk to your doc and see what they recommend. My primary doc said I could actually take over the counter adrenal support if I showed him first.

However, many forms of over the counter medicine people with thyroid problems specifically hypothyroid cannot take. So choose wisely.

You can also find other forms of adrenal support in health food and natural stores so just be careful and pick wisely.

Hope that helps,

Hi ,

How do we keep our body as alkaline as possible? I just got over a nasty bug myself and have those home-test PH tests for alkaline level and noticed mine was down during my virus.

Is it certain foods that raise our alkaline level?

Thanks in advance!

Sue

>Hi

Try and keep your body as alkaline as possible and you might avoid it

or shorten the duration of it. Also, fresh garlic is a potent

antibiotic.

Hope this helps -:)

and my head hurt terrible.I had a fever as well. When I called the Dr

all he said was just to let it take it's course there was othing I

could do to make it go away or make me feel better. Tylenol for fever

and lots and lots of water and flat ginger ale or 7 UP. Soda

crackers, jello , bland foods.

Hi E

Jump in ANY time :)

Where does one get Sea Salt... And is that a coarse salt?

I have been watching Ray’s 30 minute meals now and then and she made a great garlic/balsamic dressing using garlic with coarse salt mixed in to help make it like a paste.

Hi Well basically the premise is, that germs cannot live in an alkaline environment. One suggestion is, if you feel something coming on-to drink baking soda in hot water every two hours and then drink orange juice with juice of a lemon in it. Lettuce and celery are particularly alkaline Alkaline forming foods: All fruits fresh and dried except prunes, plums and cranberries All vegetables, fresh and dehydrate (Except legumes) All forms of milk Foods that are acid producing: Animal Fats and Vegetable Oils All Cereal Grains All high starch and protein foods Nuts Legumes Meats, Poultry and Egg whites (Egg yolks are not acid forming) I've heard of people getting rid of a flu coming on within 2 days of onset. Hope this helps -:) PS-thats very interesting about the sea salt-I'm definitely going to get some-thanks -:) Is it fishy tasting?jytdtp wrote: Hi EJump in ANY time :)Where does one get Sea Salt... Hi ,

Thanks for your response...and WOW, I would have thought milk was a “no-no” if you are getting the “grunge” - my mom told us that as kids and it stuck with me.

I have heard that a higher alkaline blood level can even help ward off cancer, and mine is usually right on at about 7 to 7.5 but when I had that stomach “thing” last week it was down around 6 and lower— I guess from all the electrolytes I lost, I dunno?

I love fruits and veggies so that could be why mine is at a good level normally but when sick — it’s good to know what to eat to help keep the PH balanced....so thanks again!~

Alkaline forming foods:

All fruits fresh and dried except prunes, plums and cranberries

All vegetables, fresh and dehydrate

(Except legumes)

All forms of milk

Foods that are acid producing:

Animal Fats and Vegetable Oils

All Cereal Grains

All high starch and protein foods

Nuts

Legumes

Meats, Poultry and Egg whites (Egg yolks are not acid forming)

I've heard of people getting rid of a flu coming on within 2 days of onset.

Hope this helps -:)

Hi Sue You're welcome -;) Re: Milks-I think the sour milk group is preferred (like cottage cheese and buttermilk) I've been juicing a lot and last winter I didnt catch one thing and I had a bunch of sick people around me. I used to get everything. (Knock on wood) I always put parsley and celery in whatever I juice everyday. But I do need to get some ph papers and actually test my ph- Juicing was really the only thing I can attribute my weight loss to. When I was extremely hypo I put on close to 60 pounds-eating pretty much nothing. And after I started taking hormone, besides some water weight, I lost nothing. After I started juicing, I lost 40 pounds. I do have some more to lose and they seem to be more stubborn. One more thing-I also make my own salad dressing with fresh garlic and I eat it everyday-so dont know if that is helping my immune

system or not. Garlic has been proven to be a much stronger antibiotic than even penicillin. Hi ,

I just started juicing --- it’s FANTASTIC! :)

I hope it helps me lose weight like it did you !!!

I have a dumb question for you cuz I am totally new at juicing: for peaches, do I have to take the skin off first or will the juicer do that?

Thanks again for your help and tips on the garlic and immune system. I am gonna try and have garlic every day — I just gotta get used to it!

Hi Tina Its best if you take the garlic raw-I put about 5-6 cloves in a blender with olive oil, water and a little cider vinegar and make a dressing-my husband doesnt like it particularly, but I do. By the next day its not quite as hot. You need the allicin in it-and cooking it evidently takes that out of it. I have heard you can throw it in something for no more than a minute and the allicin will still be active (Like a minute before you take your soup or whatever off the stove) Tina wrote: Garlic huh I will give it a try to I am allergic to Penicillin anyway.
