It's a good idea to contact Joyce first. While there's probably not a

lot that I can do from so far away (South Africa), I'm keen to attend

something special for Dr Ponseti and meet other parents.

If we have enough advance notice of the date, we'll definitely make

plans to come over to Iowa City. We loved our time there last April -

and can have another visit with his hero! If there is anything I

can do to help, please let me know.

I'm willing to call/e-mail Joyce to see if there are any plans for a

celebration in Iowa so we're not duplicating effort...

If we went for New York....Who lives in New York that could be in the front

side of arranging this? Where in New York could we do it? I have never been

there so I can't be of much help in picking places or things. Does someone have

insight on this?

I guess the first step would be to find out if Dr. P can get to New York and

when. I am sure that that question is one that will be asked when Joyce is

called. She would have a lot of insight into his plans.

He also travels for various things. What else does he have on his calander?

Just a few thoughts.

Hey Joanne:

Did you get ahold of Joyce? What were her thoughts? Thanks for doing that!

You know what...I have a friend in New York City and she works for a catering

company. She might be able to give us a tip on a place to have it. But..what

are we thinking. If we rent a room, have food, etc... then we are going to need

to charge people to attend to pay for the costs. Or are we just thinking to

meet at a resturant and have everyone pay for what ever they get. What are

everyone's thoughts?

I would think it would be more convenient to have it in Iowa City, we would

also like to combine the trip with Alaya's recheck since she will be past due

for one since we can't travel with a newborn.
