I received flu shots when I had mitral valve prolapse (no regurg). By the

way, it has somehow corrected itself over the years and I no longer have mvp.

The classic " click " sound in the heartbeat is no longer heard, and recent

ultrasounds have shown the valve to have returned to normal. Sandy

" anyone on the list here

have a flu jab with a leaking heart valve? "

YES, my wife has been getting Flu shots through many-many years and

she, unfortunately, has mitral valve lockage.

Thank God, so far so good.

: Flu Jabs?

For the first time ever our good old National Health Service has invited

me

for a free flu jab.

I am presuming it is because I now have a 'heart condition' .

Does anyone else have a flu jab with Afib.. if so does it have a temporary

negative effect after the jab itself when some experience mild flu

symptoms?

I have a mild ordinary cold at the moment and have been in Afib 3 days

after

no episodes for months which i am presuming is due to the cold virus

itself.

I have to take prophylactic antibiotics whenever I have any infection, or

any

dental treatment (including fillings)..to protect the posibility of my

leaking mitral and tricuspid valves fom getting infected...anyone on the

list here

have a flu jab with a leaking heart valve?

It seems like a really bad idea to me, but then I have never had flu jabs

by

choice in the past and I can see how flu can negatively impact on the

heart.

We are also being offered pneumonia at the same time (the innoculation,

not the

virus lol) and I have alreday decided I am definitely NOT having that one.

Any thought or experience with the flu jab and Afib (and/ or valve

regurgitation)

Thanks,

Thats the first time I have heard of that Sandy :) Lucky you! Do you have

any reasons that you suspect could have contributed to the valve returning to

normal?

I have regurgitation so I am supposing there is little chance of it 'healing

itself' but I still belivee in miracles!
