such a wonderful idea... much like what topper wants to do as well. maybe we can all work it out... until then, sweden & ireland are looking pretty good for me. if i'm depressed in sweden, they send me to jamaica (i think that's where) to club med and i stay for 6 months... and well in ireland... there's no greater place than home. 3 sides of my family come from there.... how can i not feel the longing in my blood. do you guys feel that to about your heritage and the countries your people were from?

oh and happy st. patrick's day!

Re: Medical journal..

Maybe Australia, England or Scotland will adopt me :) heheSeriously, I know nobody's political and medical stuff is perfect. But, you'd think since we're all so darned evolved and modern that the political systems that grind us up should improve every year by leaps and bounds. I guess that's why we all need to vote carefully.I was thinking today, wouldn't it be nice if we could do a fund raiser for people who can't afford testing and doctors visits or their medications? Something not dependent on the gov! I don't know the logisitics of how to run it (and please don't make me do that) but if we all could give something that could be auctioned off, or raffled, or whatever, and somehow those funds could be doled out to partially pay for small things, like half a month's prescript for someone who can't cover it that month, or half a doctors visit, or half the cost of a healthcheckusa screening. I say half, because then the recipient would be less likely to overly depend on the charitable help, but it would do a lot of good for those who really need it. Trouble is, who would run it? Who would make sure its all handed out properly? Who'd make sure it doesn't turn into another of those charitites that have money funneled out inappropriately? Still, I like the idea. I'd donate some of my work as a web designer, or a piece of jewelery, or something like that if someone could make it work.Phew, I talk too much too late at night.Someday I'll catch up on all the group messages and then you'll see a couple dozen posts in a row from me. But for now, one or two messages is all I can swing. If I ever don't answer anyone - write me again - I'm having a hard time keeping everything straight in email.Night night all,-Lynn

damn.. maybe we all should move to australia lol. here's a question.... for those of us that want to answer... do you think having a woman as president would solve several of our problems?? i was trying to explain to john how wonderful it would be to see a woman have that job as growing up we were told we could do anything, EXCEPT that job... remember that talk from your parents telling us that? *sigh*... but it's happening more and more all over the world...

what do you guys think??

Re: Medical journal..

For all that we complain here in Australia, I think we have it better than you over there! Most of our blood tests don't cost anything (or minimal), Medicare covers most of the "going to the doctor" bills and you can be treated in a public hospital free for surgeries etc. The main problem is the waiting lists We are the same in Canada..we pay medical that is mandatory and based on income so if you have no or littel income you pay nothing for medical. People complain about the waiting times at hospitals for ER.. mind you those who were too busy working have the kids there with runny noses and we do lose some of our docs to the big medical money in the states..but our drugs are also highly controlled so no mark up is allowed..I believe the max mark up is 10% from wholesaler to customer.. so the pharmacies make a huge profit still off dispensing fees..We have homeless, most chosen or drug related and yeah the system could be better..Kats3boys

As with any job, it is not the gender that is important it is the intelligence, common sense, and what they bring to the table that qualify them for the job and make them a good choice. I can think of a national figure (female) for whom I would not vote, but I can also think of a national figure (female) for whom I would vote as my Presidential choice. I can think of a number of men that I would not vote for either. I have a political party of choice, but I have also been known to cross-over when I felt the other candidate offered more.

As a word of caution, we do not all share the same philosophical views on politics and that "can" be a hot button for many. I grew up understanding that a person should be careful of when or where they chose to discuss politics and religion because it could be the source of some pretty argumentative moments. I have seen some excellent support groups destroyed by inclusion of either topic.

I desire to visit Germany, but I have NO desire to go to the Indian reservations, lol. I do want to go to England also, and Scotland, but only to visit. We also have some Italian in us, on my mom's side, and, of COURSE I want to go there to meet all those older Italian men. However, they're probably already tied up with the young ones, hehe, maybe the age of their grandchildren? : )

Well actually I am not to sure of that myself I am still debating that one with myself. I really DO NOT think hilliary would be the one cause I feel that woman is communist at heart herself. Now maybe that black woman what is her name Condaleza Rice I think maybe she would be great at it but still not sure I think we need to reincarnate Regan. I am not sure though . I think they promise us so much that half the time they forget what they promised till they are done bashing one another and slinging mud and they do what they damn well please when they get elected, don't get me wrong I stand behind President Bush whole heartedly I think he is doing what he feels needs to be done and I am happy with what he has done but I think he has forgotten alot becuase of the War in Irqai that he had promised he is trying to keep our country safe and it was either go there and fight or let them come here and destroy our world as we know it. I don't

know and this is the subject no one wants me to really get started on cause looking again at our vetrans that is a big pet peeve of mine. Tina Teague wrote: damn.. maybe we all should move to australia lol. here's a question.... for those of us that want to

That is the dream that and I have for the ThyroPhoenix Clinic.

The idea is that everyone who needs care gets it, regardless of financial situation. And everyone helps make it all work. If it's funding, if it's working in the facility, if it's helping with counseling, research, cooking, cleaning whatever... everyone chips in and helps so that no one has to be turned away.

Even folks with limited mobility or limitations on endurance will be put to work doing something... so that no one is ever a 'charity' case and no one will be able to suck the resource well dry... cuz everyone has to do their share.

Startup funding is the glitch.... We've been fantasizing about winning a big lottery to provide the startup capital for the land and buildings.....

.... and yes.. with this dream I'll still speak of in the present tense... she and I started this dream nearly three years ago...... One day I'd like to make it come true....

Heyyyy... Yahoo is eating some messages. I see people replying to

Toppers posts, but I never saw originals come through.

Well - okay - so if I don't reply to something, now it is not only my

own inability to keep up, but also consider yahoo is eating some

messages instead of delivering them to my email.

But - back to the point - it is a great dream. Dreams have to be dreamed

before they can become real. So, you're heading in the right direction.

You know of course I am raising money to get my own testing funded, and

I am selling off all my antique camera collection on ebay presently.

But, I will STILL donate either jewelry that I make, or you can raffle

off my web design services if you want to use it to fund your dream

clinic. I may be struggling, but I don't want anyone else to struggle

like I am now!

Hugs all,

-Lynn
